Holiday shoppers beware, Thanksgiving is around the corner. More importantly, the next day is the first big shopping sales day
before Christmas. Statistics tell us that although good sales materialize in those pre-Christmas sales, prices drop the longer you
wait. The glut of electronic hardware available this year is possibly greater than any other.
From i-phones to flat screens, from HDTV to Blue ray technology, there is much to consider. With the
plethora of available products in all categories this is shaping up to trend toward a high discount year. With many products and no clear
defined category leader in electronics, they will all be vying for your sales dollars.
Early 2006 data showed Christmas sales were slow right up to December 15th of last year. The last 10
shopping days proved a frantic pace for both consumer and retailer. Expect nothing less this year as consumers wait it out. A huge push from
on line giants will mount early and more consumer dollars will sway in the on line direction.
Consider these on line retailers for a moment. As online sales ramp higher every year what is their biggest
fear? Shipping? they need to cut price and market early to get goods out to the consumer. Expect low online pricing to suck up the early
shopping business. As this cuts into the retailers margins expect them to cut big if sales are sluggish.
This years tip! Wait it out, shop price both instore and online. Last minute shopping can be fun, make a
game of it! Big savings can occur in those last 5 remaining shopping days. A meery HO! HO! HO! laughing your way to the bank!
